Cryogenic & Liquefied Gas

Reliable, repeatable sealing performance

Why are safety valves important for cryogenic and liquefied gas applications?

Cryogenic and liquefied gases are essential in a wide range of industries, including food and beverage, medical, energy, and manufacturing. However, these gases can also be extremely dangerous if not handled properly. Safety valves play a critical role in protecting cryogenic and liquefied gas systems and personnel from overpressure events.

Cryogenic and liquefied gases are typically stored at high pressures and low temperatures. This makes them particularly susceptible to overpressure events, which can be caused by a variety of factors, such as equipment failure, operator error, or external events such as fires or explosions.

If an overpressure event occurs in a cryogenic or liquefied gas system, the resulting pressure release can be catastrophic. Safety valves help to prevent this by automatically opening to release excess pressure, protecting the system and personnel from harm.

Change-Over Valves for the Hydrogen Industry

Change-Over Valves

This valve is used if a plant shutdown is impossible or undesirable for process engineering or commercial reasons. With change-over valves, it is possible to switch over between parallel safety valves without interrupting operation, so that maintenance work can be carried out on each safety valve in turn.

Flanged inlet connections are also available on request.
Typically used in the refrigeration industry, however, they are used elsewhere and are suitable for wide industrial applications.
